How long does it take for a refund once the SR&ED claim is filed?

It generally takes the CRA 60 days to 120 days to process a claim. The time can vary depending on the type of claim you’ve submitted. Refundable claims are usually faster to process than non-refundable claims.

Filing your first claim can also take longer if you receive a notification from the CRA for a First-Time Claimant Advisory Service (FTCAS). These are educational meetings to help first-time claimants better understand the SRED scheme for future filings.
